Position Overview
Weeks Group, LLC is seeking a dependable and detail-driven Accountant with experience in accounting, financial reporting, and preferably construction or project-based accounting. This role will support the company’s accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, assist with project cost tracking, support month-end close, and help provide the financial clarity needed to make strong business decisions.
The ideal candidate is organized, self-directed, accurate, responsive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced remote environment. This person should understand that strong accounting is not just about entering numbers. It is about protecting the business, supporting operations, improving visibility, and helping the team move with confidence.
Work Arrangement
This is a remote, full-time position requiring approximately 40 hours per week. The successful candidate must be highly self-driven, disciplined, organized, and comfortable managing priorities independently.
Quarterly travel may be required to meet with the leadership and finance teams, participate in company alignment, and support team collaboration.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000, commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities
Support Daily Accounting Operations
Maintain accurate accounting records and support day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, reconciliations, deposits, expense tracking, and general ledger activity.
Assist with Month-End and Year-End Close
Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, review transactions, maintain supporting schedules, and assist with timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
Support Construction and Project Accounting
Assist with job costing, project cost tracking, budget-to-actual reporting, project expense coding, subcontractor/vendor documentation, and financial reporting for active construction and consulting projects.
Manage Accounts Payable and Vendor Coordination
Process vendor invoices, verify approvals, review coding, track payment status, maintain vendor records, and support subcontractor compliance documentation as needed.
Support Client Billing and Accounts Receivable
Prepare and support client invoices, track receivables, assist with collections follow-up, maintain billing documentation, and support change order or project-related billing requirements.
Maintain Accurate Financial Records
Ensure transactions are properly coded, documented, reconciled, and entered into the accounting system in accordance with company processes and accounting standards.
Assist with Financial Reporting
Support the preparation of financial reports, project reports, cash flow information, budget updates, and other reporting needed by finance and leadership.
Support Compliance and Audit Readiness
Maintain organized records and documentation to support audits, tax preparation, insurance requirements, client requests, and internal reviews.
Improve Accounting Processes
Identify opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, documentation, reporting, and workflows within the accounting function.
Support the Finance and Leadership Teams
Provide timely, accurate financial information that helps the Finance Director and leadership team make informed decisions. Support EOS scorecard reporting and other company accountability tools as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience preferred.
- Experience in construction, engineering, project-based services, or professional services preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Experience with job costing, project accounting, or construction accounting preferred.
- Familiarity with AIA billing, retainage, lien waivers, subcontractor compliance, or percentage-of-completion accounting is a plus.
- Proficiency with accounting systems, ERP platforms, Excel, and financial reporting tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams, vendors, clients, and external partners.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, accountability, and follow-through.
- Comfortable working remotely in a self-directed role.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing, entrepreneurial environment.
Preferred Experience
- Construction accounting or project accounting experience.
- Data center, mission critical, commercial construction, or infrastructure project experience.
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems used in construction or project-based companies.
- Familiarity with EOS, scorecards, rocks, and accountability systems.
- Experience supporting audit preparation, tax documentation, insurance requests, and financial compliance.
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, reconciliations, and reporting schedules.
