Director of Data Center Construction – United States (Remote)

The Director of Data Center Construction is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of multiple hyperscale and mission-critical data center construction projects across North America. This individual will provide strategic leadership to Project Directors, Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams while serving as a trusted advisor to our clients.

The Director will be accountable for operational excellence across safety, quality, schedule, budget, client satisfaction, staffing, and project execution. This role requires extensive experience managing large-scale mission-critical construction programs and the ability to build high-performing teams capable of delivering exceptional results in demanding environments.

This position requires significant travel to active project sites.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

• Lead multiple concurrent hyperscale data center construction projects from preconstruction through client turnover.
• Provide executive oversight for project performance, execution strategy, staffing, and resource planning.
• Develop project delivery strategies that minimize risk while maximizing schedule certainty and client satisfaction.
• Ensure consistent execution of Weeks Group standards across all projects.

Client Leadership

• Serve as the executive point of contact for hyperscale clients.
• Build trusted relationships with client leadership and key stakeholders.
• Lead executive-level project reviews, risk discussions, and strategic planning meetings.
• Resolve high-level project issues before they impact project delivery.

Project Oversight

• Monitor project budgets, forecasts, schedules, staffing plans, and financial performance.
• Drive accountability across project teams for safety, quality, cost control, and schedule adherence.
• Review project KPIs and implement corrective actions where necessary.
• Ensure proper change management, documentation, and contract administration.

Team Leadership

• Recruit, mentor, and develop Project Directors, Project Managers, Superintendents, and construction professionals.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and leadership coaching.
• Build succession plans and organizational capability as Weeks Group continues to grow.

Safety & Quality

• Champion a zero-incident safety culture across every project.
• Ensure compliance with client standards, OSHA regulations, and Weeks Group safety expectations.
• Promote industry-leading quality management processes from procurement through commissioning and turnover.

Business Development Support

• Support proposal development and client pursuits.
• Participate in interviews with prospective clients.
• Provide operational expertise during project pursuits and strategic growth initiatives.
• Help identify opportunities for expanding existing client relationships.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 15+ years of commercial construction experience.
• 10+ years managing large-scale mission-critical or hyperscale data center construction projects.
• Experience leading multiple project teams simultaneously.
• Strong knowledge of:

• Ability to travel extensively throughout North America.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting hyperscale clients such as Microsoft, Google, Meta, AWS, Oracle, or similar enterprise data center operators.
• Experience with greenfield and brownfield data center construction.
• PMP, CCM, PE, or other relevant professional certifications.
• Experience with Primavera P6, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Microsoft Project.
